KULIT from ULIT, which means repetitive, repeat) (noun) MAKULIT is (1.) someone who is irritating because he or she does not get the point once but needs to be reminded again and again, so many times over.

Diverting from the above definition of the Filipino term we invoke to name our team, we see our kakulitan as more of in the realm of tenacity–being obstinate, persistent, and stubborn–in the pursuit of the goals we wish to achieve, for ourselves and the respective fields in which we serve.

Tita Lina, our Team Leader, is Catalina Hilario, the charter president of the Rotary Club of Paranaque Metro, District 3830. Currently serving as a consultant on Livelihood/Enterprise Development, she has been involved in the Land Development industry, as well as in government service as the Head of the Livelihood and Resource Management Service in Paranaque City. She has been married for 44 years to Ruben Hilario, a banker. They have 4 children, and 9 grandchildren.

Twinkle, is Angelina Legaspi, an entrepreneur who runs her own pastry business called I Crave. A graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Management of Information Systems, she is currently pursuing her interest in the culinary industry at the International School for Culinary Arts & Hotel Management. She has been active in public service in Barangay Dasmarinas, where she resides, and continues her socio-civic activities through a number of organizations, such as World Vision, Child Hope Asia, and Gawad Kalinga.

Lloyd, is Atty. Lloyd Lim. Born and raised in Cebu, he was educated in Jesuit institutions–from the Sacred Heart School for Boys (now known as Ateneo de Cebu), to his undergraduate studies at Ateneo de Manila, to his pursuit of the practice of Law by earning his degree at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law. From there, he has continued his education to postgraduate degrees in Organizationl Development majoring in Microfinance, as well as a Master of Science in Finance, while maintaining his own legal office, serving as the President of the Fraternal Order of Utopia, and taking care of his wife and two daughters.

Yelle is Marielle Nadal. A graphic designer by training, she graduated with honors with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. She currently serves as Executive Director of Idea!s Creatives, a social enterprise she co-founded to support the communications requirements of development organizations. Apart from design and social entrepreneurship, Yelle has also received recognition for her writing, as an honorable mention in the 2006 Philippine Board on Books for Young People Salanga Writers’ Prize.

Sol is Maria Soledad Racelis. Currently a Senior Media Planner for MindShare Philippines, she graduated from De La Salle University with a degree in Commerce, Major in Advertising Management, where she garnered the distinction of Service Merit Awardee. She is an active member of Rotaract Manila, and immerses herself in the club’s various outreach activities, such as medical missions, feeding programs and prison visits.
